Hi, I'm Ashlynn!        

For the past several years I've been a full time #boymom and I LOVE it.  Raising my two little monsters has easily been the best and hardest years of my life.  Once we knew our youngest was going to be starting full day school it was time for me to start thinking about my next "chapter". 

Oddly enough, it was my husband's idea for me to start a full time candle business but once he said it out loud it was a no brainer for me!  I've always been highly motivated to run my own business and throw in one of my long time obsessions, candles, I'm in!  From there it escalated quickly. I became obsessed with learning how to make my candles burn better, longer, stronger and cleaner.  I knew I wanted to bring a unique experience to my shop and once I started throwing around the idea of candle making workshops and started doing research, the Clinton Candle Co. Candle Bar was born!  

Everything about your candle making experience is important to us from the aesthetic of the shop to the ingredients we use in all of our candles. 

Our location on the historic downtown square in Clinton, MO, as well as the name we chose for our business represents our love for the history of our community where we have chosen to call home for our family.  We hope when you come into our shop you can feel the representation of the love we have for the community, downtown and the candles we make.   

Clinton Candle Co. candles are made with cleaner ingredients because we care about our customers and our environment.  When I started looking at all that goes into making candles I became educated in all of the different types of waxes, fragrances and even wicks and how they all play their part in what makes a cleaner candle. We use a soy wax that is both paraben and phthalate free. This blend is also gluten free and cruelty free. We offer both cotton and wood wick options.  Our cotton wicks are a 100% cotton blend.  Our crackling wood wicks are sustainably made through FSC Certified Mills.  We use synthetic fragrance oils that are made specifically for candle burning purposes in a lab. This process allows all of our oils to be phthalate free and used at higher temperatures without the risk of toxins that are oftentimes prevalent in the use of some essential oils when used in candles.
